Compatriota de esté, Daniel Sanders (Red Bull Gas Gas) se clasificó segundo, por delante de Ross Branch (Hero Motorsports), piloto de Botswana, y del español Joan Barreda Bort (Monster Energy JB Team). Luciano Benavides (Husqvarna Factory Racing), hermano menor de Kevin, concluyó 15ºa 20 seconds, y Franco Caimi (Hero Motorsports) se situó 22ºa 23.
En cars, Orlando Terranova (Prodrive), que acumula 16 presences en el Dakr, since 2005, se posicionó 9º y fue el mejor argentino, por encima de Sebastián Halpern, 17ºin y Juan Cruz Yacopini, 30º.
